i made kuih
Dear Gillan,

As I am jobless now, I am thinking ways to generate income during this tough period.

I guess the good thing in taking a culinary arts diploma is that food will never be forgotten. People need food, and they will find it.

I made  Kuih Bakar today. I took some confidence in making them during my internship since I got a lot of compliments - maybe it all went up to my head hehe. Anyway, I made two of them - one squared shaped and another is in circle. I didn't use any pandan extract nor food colouring, mainly because the ones I have in my house was not that great. Au Natural it is!

Mixed them and baked them for an hour. The taste? I like it, to be honest. It has a sweet note but it's not too much and you can't taste the pandan. The crust is brown and a great combination of texture with the softness in the inner layers.

I cut the square ones in half. Gave half to Meknab to try and give feedback. She said it was not too sweet and she likes it because you can still taste everything. I posted on the other half regarding wanting to sell it for the future. Aizad replied wanting to buy it. I did not intend to sell it now since I want the feedback first but he gave me a rm10 for half of the kuih bakar (which is twice than my intended price)

RM10.
I think that's my first 'gaji' after I quit my job. For some reason I felt happy. Nabilah said I should try to sell it during Ramadan since the MCO will extend for quite some time. I am considering it. My mom and said it is delicious. I do not know how to promote my business. I am quite bad in taking constructive criticism. But, I could not help thinking that maybe making traditional kuih was my call.

It could be, huh?
So what kuih is next?

xx
